Last week both kids went to the dentist for their cleanings. This is not an easy task with both of the kids and Ronnie's sensory issues. This time it really went well actually, with minimal whining from both children.
Miss Evee was a champ and got her teeth brushed and examined by the dentist with no problems at all. Once again she was cavity free. She is such a good girl when it comes to brushing and flossing.
It's a lot harder for Ronnie with his sensory issues to have things going on in his mouth. Brushing his teeth sometimes is hard for him, so I was expecting a major meltdown. The loud tools, the spray water, and the sound of the power brush, all things that I figured would set him off. He did amazing though, not one meltdown.
Poor Ronnie has one cavity in one of his back molars. The dentist recommended that we come in and get it filled, they had an opening this week so we took it. I figured we could at least try to get it filled but I was pretty sure he wasn't going to let it happen.
The dentist chose to try nitrous to keep him calm for the procedure. They have these nose things that go over the child's nose for them to breathe in the nitrous and they have a smell to them. For some sensory kiddos smells are an issue and having something like strawberry be the only thing you are constantly smelling, its just to much. So we switched to the regular plastic no smell nose piece. This worked for all of about 2 minutes along with the distraction of Frozen on the TV. He wasn't letting any of this happen. We asked him if he would do it without any of the nitrous and he said that he would try, so she tried to put this thing called a "whale tale" in his mouth, its this piece he is supposed to bite down on to keep his mouth open and the teeth dry while they are working in there. This "whale tale" thing was huge! I'm pretty sure that I would have choked on it myself!
I tried to talk him into it but after seeing the size of that thing I wasn't going to fight with him. The tooth doesn't hurt him, I took over brushing for him again, and I'm not into sedating him to fill it. I'm also trying to avoid an all out melt down and making the dentist a bad experience for him. So we just made an appointment for three months from now and we will watch the cavity.
We went home and put in Real Steel, his favorite movie and he fell back asleep until it was time to head to school. Ron fell asleep with us too for a little bit. I slept for the day because I had to work that night.

First Beachbody challenge group.
April 1st will start my first challenge group! I am so excited to lead my first challengers in their weight loss journeys. So far my experience being a Beachbody coach has been wonderful. I joined a team full of wonderful, supportive, and helpful individuals. I am so excited to start my own challenge group and meet new people who hopefully I can inspire to be better to themselves.
My weight loss journey started in 2012 when I got asked to be a bridesmaid in a friends wedding. I had been packing around my extra baby weight from 2010 when my son was born. I started at a whopping 231lbs. I was not happy. I was reentering the work force and had no energy. I had accepted a job at the hospital that I currently still work at as a transporter for the imaging department. I was walking about ten miles a day and pushing patients small and large on gurneys all day. I worked day shift for a while then I worked swing shift for awhile, I ate pretty healthy taking salads and such to work with me everyday.
After not being active for so long my body was very happy to get going again. The first 30lbs practically fell off. Then it was time for the wedding I wore a dress that was two sizes smaller than I had originally had to buy. When I put the dress I had purchased months before on, it fell right off my body. YAY!! This was the best feeling ever!
I went on to lose a total of 20 more pounds and that was a total of 50 pounds lost in October of 2013. A little over a year and I had lost 50 pounds!! In September of 2013 I accepted a new position that had me switching my entire schedule around. I am now working nights and sleeping during the day. I work from 10pm-6:30am and I sleep 07:00am-3:00pm four days a week. I have slowly gained 20 of my precious lost pounds back and I am not happy at all. My new job I mostly sit at a desk all night and have no where near as much activity as I had before as a transporter.
My friend and my coach Alecia has followed and supported my weight loss for a long time. I saw her posting on Facebook about how she was drinking Shakeology and doing the program T25. All of her inspiring posts really intrigued me, so I asked her how to become a coach and she guided me through signing up. I am now a part of Team find your strong and I couldn't be happier.
If you are interested in joining my first challenge group please send me a message at mycrazyhappylife@gmail.com or order your challenge pack on my website www.teambeachbody.com/jess7616 and send me an email after so that I can add you to the facebook challenge group. Education!
Today is the first day of my telemetry interpretation class at work. The next three Monday's I'll be spending an extra four hours at the hospital learning how to read heart rhythm's and EKG's. Yay! The only bad part about it is that I get off an hour and a half before the class starts.
I went and had some breakfast in the cafeteria, and now I'm sitting here in the lobby writing this. The class starts at 08:00 and goes to 12:00. All I can think about is my headache and how bad I want to go to sleep. Heck I'm usually asleep by now. I've been up since 09:00 yesterday! Evee and I went to my sisters bridal shower yesterday and was there a good part of the day or the two hour round trip took up a lot of it. Then Ron and a few friends went out to celebrate a promotion so I didn't get to take a nap before work. Needless to say I am pretty tired.
When this class gets out I will be hitting the sheets as fast as possible.
**UPDATE***
The class was pretty awesome. I am looking forward to the next few weeks of classes and all that I will learn. I think that it will be very helpful working in my department, because recently we have been able to see so many different rhythms.
I did find out trying to count all of the little boxes that I should probably go get my eyes checked. I really could use some reading glasses, those boxes are really small.
